Kids

Climbing is an amazing family activity, and we have routes available for all age ranges. Children of any age can partake in our climbing, however children under the age of 14 must be supervised by an adult while climbing in the gym. Children must also be at least 14 years of age to belay in the gym.

Belay Requirements

Anyone that would like to belay in our gym must be belay certified. This means you must pass our belay test. If you are brand new to climbing the best way to do this is to take our intro to climbing class. If you are confident in your ability to belay, you can opt to take the test instead. The test is free and can be administered throughout the day for any interested participants. Please note, any person that would like to belay must be at least 14 years of age.

Cheers to your journey ahead!

Rock climbing can seem intimidating at first. For many, it quickly becomes one of their life’s great passions. Our staff are here to help you on your journey from getting started to breaking through to harder grades.

We focus on safety, first and foremost. New members and guests are required to fill out a waiver and participate in our orientation with one of our staff members before climbing.

Styles of Climbing

Top Rope/Auto-Belay

Top rope climbing is a style of climbing in which the climbing rope passes through a set of anchors at the top of the climb and back down to the belayer. When you think of “rock climbing” this is what you picture. This is the most common style of climbing, and the most user friendly for climbers wanting to make the move from auto-belays to more advanced styles climbing. Perfect for beginners and experts, top rope climbing in our gym has something for everybody!

 Bouldering

Bouldering is a style of climbing that is performed without the use of a rope or harness, but don’t worry you stay pretty close to the ground. Because of this, bouldering utilizes shorter but more intensive moves to provide a challenge to climbers of all levels.

Lead Climbing

Lead climbing is a style of climbing in which the climber ties into the rope at the ground without it attached to any anchor points. The climber protects their falls by clipping the climbing rope into quick-draws hanging from the wall as they climb up. Falls while lead climbing are generally longer than falls on top ropes. Therefore, additional skills and training are required for both the climber and belayer before they can lead climb.
